GUWAHATI, Nov 16: The Aelita Art and Craft School successfully concluded the Late Analjyoti Das Memorial State-Level Art Competition at Nandi Mikir Primary School, Guwahati. Over 150 students from schools across Assam participated in the one-day event.
The programme began with ceremonial lamp lighting and a moment of silence in memory of the late artist Analjyoti Das. A solo exhibition of 20 of his artworks was also inaugurated. Students Mayurdip Talukdar, Hansharaj Mahanta and Anisha Baishya offered a musical tribute through the prayer song Mayabini in honour of heartthrob Zubeen Garg.
The competition was held in four categories, with winners as follows:
Group A: Kristina Baishya (1st), Jiya Kalita (2nd), Ishan Shahi (3rd)
Group B: Aaradhya Dutta (1st), Dhansree Bezbaruah (2nd), Adresa Dutta (3rd)
Group C: Manas Pratim Deka (1st), Bastab Das (2nd), Mrigakshi Adhikari (3rd)
Group D: Deeptanshu Chetia (1st), Diksita Kashyap (2nd), Leonard Panging (3rd)
Judged by renowned artists Ashwini Sarma, Atanu Baruah, Ganesh Chetri and Bhairab Medhi, winners received cash prizes and certificates, presented by dignitaries including Dr Budhin Saikia, retired Deputy Superintendent of Guwahati Medical College.
The event, chaired by Dhananjay Talukdar, concluded with a vote of thanks by Jonaki Kalita Talukdar, Principal of Aelita Art and Craft School, who expressed gratitude to participants, judges and attendees.
