Successful conclusion of Byatikram’s International Writer’s Meet 2023 in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Nov 21: Byatikram MASDO celebrated the successful conclusion of the second edition of the “Byatikram International Writer’s Meet 2023” in Guwahati from November 16th to 19th. The four-day event brought together distinguished poets and writers from nine countries for a celebration of literature and cultural exchange.

Participating writers included Ahmed Al-Shahway (Egypt), Dr Malachi Edwin Vethamani (Malaysia), Jona Burghardt (Argentina), Maja Panajotova (Bulgaria), Shastri Bakry & Amri Rivani (Indonesia), Sofya Yechina (Russia), Tobias Burghardt (Germany), and Mohammad Aminur Rahman (Bangladesh), alongside notable Indian writers.

The inaugural ceremony, held at Hotel Vivanta, Khanapara, featured an introduction to the global poets and was inaugurated by Dr Rita Chowdhury, a prominent Assamese writer. Special felicitations were presented by the Jeevan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust.

The second day, hosted at Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, included cultural performances and literary discussions, with Dr Diganta Halder, the principal, emphasising the event’s contribution to international literary connections. The third day unfolded at Cotton University and Dispur College, promoting literary engagement and cultural exchange. The evening at the Guwahati Artists’ Guild facilitated dialogue on poetry and cultural nuances.

Writers from various countries expressed their pleasure and gratitude for the warm hospitality and love received in Assam, praising its diverse culture, scenic beauty, and vibrant atmosphere. The successful event marked a significant step in fostering global literary connections and promoting cultural understanding.
