TEZPUR, November 1: The cutting-edge research works of Tezpur University in the areas of artificial
intelligence and image processing, energy, polymers, otorhinolaryngology and optoelectronics and
photonics have marked proven recognition globally as its faculty members of respective fields have
featured in the coveted Elsevier’s list of top 2 per cent scientists from across the globe.
The faculty members whose names have featured in the Elsevier’s list are Dhruba K Bhattacharyya,
Debendra Chandra Baruah, Shyamal Kumar Das, Niranjan Karak, Ramesh Chandra Deka and Partha
Pratim Sahu.
Elsevier is a globally reputed publishing and information analytics company and the lists have been
published in 2022 and 2023 by an independent study. The lists are prepared based on a publicly
available database of top-cited scientists that provide standardized information on citations, h-index, co-
authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite
indicator (c-score). Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the
standard science-metrix classification.
Congratulating the faculty members, Shambhu Nath Singh, vice-chancellor of the university said,
