Trinamool Protests Against Municipality Tax Hike

SIVASAGAR, March 22: Trinamool Congress, Sivasagar district unit on Wednesday took out a protest demonstration against municipality property tax hike and demanded a roll back of the government notification in this regard.

Pranjal Pratim Khanikar, president of the unit, led the demonstration and submitted a memorandum to the Sivasagar deputy commissioner.

The party in a release said that the government has shown extreme apathy to the people already weakened by the COVID 19 pandemic .The party alleged that the Sivasagar Municipality Board has failed to fulfill the aspirations of the citizens and as also to publish the expenditure accounts of the previous years.
