JORHAT, May 9: Two college students including a girl, who were arrested on Saturday in Jorhat on charges of making and uploading of porn material on the net, were sent to judicial custody on Tuesday.

The duo from different colleges were produced before a local court after their three-day police remand ended, and were sent to judicial custody.

The incident came to light after an elderly man at Dhekelia Pokamura village under Pulibar police station in West Jorhat, committed suicide on Friday following a video in which the girl from the same village and he purportedly  featured in a compromising act, went viral here.

Following the suicide incident of Deben Kalita, people of the village, mostly women, created an uproar seeking stern action against the girl and any other person involved in making and uploading porn videos on the net.

They had alleged that several other sexually explicit videos of the girl with other men had also gone viral in recent times.

Another college student Kishalay Sharma of JB College was last week arrested by police after the girl had lodged a complaint against him at Jorhat police station alleging that Kishalay was involved in making objectionable videos of her and uploading them on the net after secretly taking videos of her with him.

The girl, Darsana Bharali had been arrested under section 306 and 34 of IPC and section 67A of IT Act.

The other college student was identified as Abhishek Kashyap. He was featured in a porn video with her and was suspected to be partnering her in this racket. Kashyap was a resident of Borholla.
