Two trucks laden with Burmese supari seized in Karbi Aanglong

BOKAJAN, Oct 29: The police in Karbi Anglong nabbed two pickup trucks laden with Burmese supari at NH39 under Khatkhati police station. The two pickup trucks bearing registration number AS-01-PC-2686 and AS-02-CC-7938 was coming from Dimapur loaded with Burmese supari. The police recovered 34 sacks of the contraband totaling 3,057 Kgs. The contraband was hidden below bags of paddy.

In this connection four persons were detained. They are Jiabur Rehman of Lahorighat, Zinadul Islam from Udalguri, Dilbar Hussain from Lanka and Saidul Haque from Morigaon.

The trucks, contraband and men are in the custody of Khatkhati police.
