UPPL mourns passing of general secretary Ranjit Kumar Daimary

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 8: Ranjit Kumar Daimary, the general secretary (Administration) of Sukhanjhora Primary Committee of the UPPL party under the Banargaon Block Committee of Kokrajhar district, passed away due to a heart stroke on Thursday afternoon.

Daimary breathed his last at around 2.45 pm at Kokrajhar Medical College & Hospital. He had been attending a party meeting of the Kokrajhar District Committee in Haltugaon when he suddenly fell ill and was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar Medical College & Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Ranjit Kumar Daimary was an active leader at the primary committee level and was involved in various social activities. He was only 38 years old. The funeral of Daimary took place on Friday, following traditional rituals, at the village crematorium ground. The ceremony was attended by party leaders, workers, and well-wishers.

Prominent figures such as Lawrence Islary, MLA of Kokrajhar East LAC and president of Kokrajhar District Committee, UPPL; Iraqdao Brahma, working president of UPPL Youth; Hantigiri Narzary, UPPL media secretary; Rabiram Brahma, UPPL CWC member and Banargaon TCLCC chairman; Janak Ujir, CWC member; Motiur Rahman, UPPL secretary of Kokrajhar District Committee, and several other party leaders paid their last respects by offering tributes to Ranjit Kumar Daimary.

Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region and UPPL president, expressed his condolences over the untimely demise of Ranjit Kumar Daimary and offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

The UPPL party extended its deep mourning and condolences to the bereaved family members, praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul. A one-minute silence condolence was also observed at a party meeting in Kokrajhar to pay respect to Ranjit Kumar Daimary.
