KOKRAJHAR, Feb 21: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Saturday organised a Mega Car Rally from Udalguri to Kokrajhar to promote peace, unity and harmony in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The rally, organised by the Central Youth wing of UPPL, was flagged off by party president and former BTC CEM Pramod Kumar. The rally witnessed participation from a large number of party workers and supporters.
Vehicles carrying party flags and banners will travel through Tamulpur, Baksa and Chirang district through several areas en route, spreading the message of communal harmony and peaceful coexistence.
People cutting across the communities have extended their warm welcome the ralliest team at different places on their enroute and concluded its destination at Banargaon Khagrabari playground in Kokrajhar.
Party leaders said the initiative was aimed at strengthening unity among communities and encouraging youth participation in maintaining peace and social cohesion in the region.
UPPL chief Pramod Boro told that the rally is a symbolic of party’s strengthening and dedication to the common masses in Bodoland region. He said that UPPL party is fully committed to work for all round development of the citizens and rendered relentlessly services since its inception.
