Workshop on sustainable agriculture underway in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 16: A two-day workshop on sustainable agriculture has started from Friday at IT Park Chandrapara in Kokrajhar district to impart training on producing multiple agricultural aspects among the farmers.
Nearly 100 participants participated from different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region which was organised by Farmer’s Cell of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).
Director of Veterans & Animal Husbandry of BTR, Dr Pathik Das, OSD to CEM (BTR) Pushpadhar Das, retired director of Agriculture and OSD to CEM (BTR), Manaranjan Das, UPPL general secretary Raju Kumar Narzary, KMB chairperson Pratibha Brahma graced the programme as resource persons.
The workshop was chaired by Nerkhang Kaklary, president of UPPL Farmer’s Cell.
The programme highlighted various agricultural aspects as well as schemes of agro-based initiatives which were initiated by the BTR government to make more sustainable development in the days to come.
Among others, vice president of Farmer’s Cell of UPPL Santosh Kaklary, UPPL media cell convenor Hantigiri Narzary, UPPL Farmer’s Cell general secretary Amarjit Basumatary were also present in the programme.
Meanwhile, the Farmer’s Cell of UPPL have offered warm felicitation to three progressive farmers of BTR districts on the occasion with traditional Aronai.
The three progressive farmers are Sarbeswar Basumatary (Bijni), Purno Kanta Boro (Bijni) and Abinash Daimary (Udalguri).
