Guwahati, Nov 26: The fourth edition of the largest printing technology exhibition ‘North East Print Tech 2022’ began on Saturday at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre here.
The three-day event has brought in many print-tech companies and cutting-edge machines from countries like China, Japan, Germany etc. and modern equipment and softwares which will be available for the people of North East.
Former minister and MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, who attended as the chief guest inaugurated the inaugural ceremony with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
A special seminar is going to be held on green press on how modern printing is polluting the environment and minimising its effect with modern technology. Moreover, two workshops will take place on skill development for local entrepreneurs and students of North East making them understand for the new market possibilities and its merits.
A special media workshop on media coverage and technology, prospects and challenges was addressed by Durba Ghosh, bureau chief of PTI, Guwahati on Saturday.
Along with Siddhartha Bhattacharya; president of North East Print Tech 2022, Pranab Kumar Talukdar; Debananda Hazarika chairman Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Ltd.; Sarendra B Dhote, former president AIFMP, Kolkata; Anil Deka secretary, NEPT; Renowned printing technologist Suresh Majumdar, A Romita Devi director, Manipur Government Press; S.R. Marak director, Meghalaya Government Press; Saikat Deb Barman, Tripura Government Press and Surjit Senjan, vice president, AIFMP were present on the occasion.
The president of North East Print Tech 2022 Pranab kumar Talukdar said that as the expo has been unable to conduct in the year 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic reasons, the fourth edition will be an opportunity for new vendors and entrepreneurs.
“The North East Print Tech 2022 is a revolution in the field of printing technology with new technologies in the market for the new generation. It emphasises self-competent and self-reliability. This exhibition will bring opportunity for local buyers and vendors,” adds Pranab Kumar Talukdar.
MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya says, “The printing will never go out of business as people will never stop reading. Even if today the digital world has taken over, the art of reading books will never die.”
“The printing world has also updated with the changing technology from time to time and has to upgrade more. The printing and packaging industry is the second fastest growing industry in the world. There have been huge leaps in technology that are showcased here, which will largely benefit small-scale manufacturers,” adds Siddhartha.
Addressing the event, Debananda Hazarika, chairman ASTP&P Corporation Ltd. mentioned that he is looking forward to the event for the new scopes and technologies in the printing field.
Companies like Komori, Tech Nova, Canon, Snhena Graphics, Narmada, SWFTS, RISO, Konica Minolta, YP2, Monotech etc. participated in the event showcasing their technologies.
