ITANAGAR, March 11: The Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh (BMS) lauded Arunachal govt initiative enhancing the monthly salary and retirement incentives for the contingency and casual labourers of state on Tuesday.
Briefing the media, the BMS state President Ringu Chapo said “With the issue of recent notification from the chief secretary regarding the retirement of casual and contingency workers of 60 years without mentioning any incentives has hurt us and due to that order we have already planned several forms of democratic movement began with the submission of memorandum to the state government and so on. We were about to prepare the memorandum with several other issues and for which we had a separate meeting of power department workers union meeting and in the passage of time other department were preparing for the democratic movement.”
“It is a fact that we have been demanding for 13 months salary for the electrical workers as the workers of power department work day and night in every weather condition without carrying for their life. Every year we witness series of accident wherein the life of the employees are at the stake and there is no scheme to cope up with them. Another important issue was that retirement issues which has come as bolt from blue but everything seems settled for sometimes as the state government has listened to our genuine grievances and we are grateful to the Pema Khandu led government,” said RIngu Chapo.
