Five cadres of KCP (MTF) apprehended with cache of arms by Manipur Police

IMPHAL, Oct 28: In a significant operation, Manipur police arrested five members of the KCP
(Military Task Force) during a search operation in the Imphal East district. The arrests were made by
police commandos from Imphal East district at Yairipok Yambem and Changamdabi villages, under
the Andro police station.
A significant cache of arms and ammunition was confiscated during the operation, including a 1.32
pistol with a magazine containing six live rounds, 4.38 live ammunition, six rounds of AK-
ammunition, 12 rounds of INSAS ammunition, and 20 rounds of 7.62 SLR ammunition. Additionally,
five mobile phone handsets, Rs 2,090 in cash, and an unregistered Hyundai i20 car were also seized.
The arrested individuals were identified as Singam Kabikanta Singh (31), Ngangom Tangba Meitei
(30), Sadokpam Nongpoknganba Singh (22), Konsam Anao Singh (26), and Md Iliyas Khan (30). They

were allegedly involved in extortion activities targeting the general public, government officials, and
businessmen.
The police operation was part of ongoing efforts to recover illegal arms and ammunition, particularly
concerning the crisis in the state since May 3. The arrested individuals and seized items have been
handed over to the Andro police station for further legal actions.
This decisive action by the Manipur police underscores their commitment to maintaining law and
order, preventing illegal activities, and ensuring public safety within the state. (NNN)
