According to a senior government official, who chose to remain anonymous, the state government has approved plans for the flyover, which will run from the Radhanagar Bus Stand to the Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Hospital.

Soil testing, land acquisition, and surveys are part of the ongoing preparations. As of today, soil testing has been completed at Colonel Chowmuhani, and another test is scheduled for Bidurkarta Chowmuhani in Agartala.

The official also noted that there might be plans for an additional flyover, although no final decision has been made yet.

Tripura’s first flyover in Agartala was inaugurated in October 2019. The 2.3-kilometre-long, two-lane structure was built at a cost of Rs 300 crore, stretching from Fire Brigade Chowmuhani to Arundhatinagar Drop Gate via Battala.
