70th All India Railway Table Tennis Championship  begins

GUWAHATI, Aug 12: The 70th All India Railway Table Tennis Championship (Men & Women) 2024 – 2025 is being organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway. The championship started on August 12 at NF Railway Indoor Stadium, Maligaon, Guwahati. The general manager/NFR, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, as chief guest inaugurated the sporting event hoisting the Tournament Flag and addressed the gathering in presence of other senior officials of NF Railway (NFR) and NF Railway Sports Association (NFRSA).

President/NFRSA, Sandeep Sharma welcomed all participating players and officials of the sporting event which will last for five days and will conclude on August 16.

19 teams representing various Zonal Railways of Indian Railways will participate in the championship. 13 mens’ teams and 6 womens’ teams consisting of a total of approximately 180 persons including players, coach officials, referees and Railway Sports Promotion Board Observers will take part in this championship.National players who represented India at various International events both in men and women category will be in action in this championship tournament.Top seed players from mens’team like Jeet Chandra, AnirbanGhosh, Akash Pal &RonitBhanja will be representing their respective zones. From womens’ team players likeSutirtha Mukherjee, Poymantee Baisya & Moumita Dutta will clash for the championship with other deserving players participating in the event.
