AAI-RSCB-NER to host All India Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament from January 6

Guwahati, Jan 4: To boost the sports culture among its officials, AAI RSCB, NER under the aegis of AAI – Sports Control Board, CHQ New Delhi is organising the ‘All India Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament 2024-25’ in Guwahati, covering 16 matches in 5 days starting from January 6 – 10.

Involving six regional teams of AAI, all of whom reaching Guwahati a day ahead on January 5, the matches will start after the inauguration of the tournament on January 6 at 7:30 am at Judges Field, here by the chief guest M. Raja Kishore, Regional Executive Director, North Eastern Region, Airports Authority of India , Gyan  Batra, Vice President , RSCB – NER, Pabitra Das, Regional Secretary, Airport Authority Employees Union, NER. Besides, Judges Field, a few matches of the tournament will also be played at Railway Stadium, Maligaon, Guwahati simultaneously.

Further, some matches will be played under Flood Light at night apart from day matches in the Judges Field. The final will be played at the Judges Field in the morning of January 10 followed by the closing ceremony in Hotel Kiranshree Grand in the evening. The purpose of the cricket tournament is to promote sports culture, brotherhood, physical & mental health amongst the employees of AAI.
