CM’s tea tribes football tournament from July 17 in Nagoan

NAGAON, July 14: The Chief Minister’s Tea Tribes Football Tournament 2022-23 will be held from July 17 in Nagaon, a press release stated on Friday.

In this regard, Nagaon Deputy Commissioner cum chairman of district level committee of chief minister’s tea tribes football tournament 2022-23, Narendra Kr Shah convened a meeting at DC’s conference hall on Friday here.

During the meeting, DC Shah, as well as other members of the committee extensively discussed on preparatory measures and other strategies to be taken into account for a smooth conduct of the tournament for under 20(boys).

In an official release, it is stated that the tournament will be primarily conducted at LAC level covering four constituencies like Raha, Barhampur, Samaguri and Kaliabor in the district. Four teams in Raha constituency will participate at Amsoi Tea Estate playground, in Kaliabor constituency 17 teams will participate at Sonari tea estate playground and in Samaguri constituency, 10 teams will participate at Rangamati tea estate playground while in Barhampur constituency, 14 teams will participate at Sogunbahi tea estate playground here. The inaugural match of the tournament will be held at Sogunbahi tea estate playground on the coming July 17. Over 45 teams from across the district have already confirmed their participation in the tournament, the release added.

ADC Lakhya Jyoti Das, Assistant Commissioner Arunabha Choudhary, district sports officer Manash Pratim Das, assistant labour commissioner Naresh Das, and MLAs of those concerned constituencies of the district were present in the meeting today, the release stated further here.
