DIPHU, July 29: Litdong Dera player from West Karbi Anglong and Sterwin Hanse, Pawan Rai, Rosan Dung Dung, Sasang Hengna and Kamsenlal Vaephei from Karbi Anglong namely are part of Assam squad in Junior Boys’ National Football Championship.
The championship which is also known as Dr BC Roy Trophy 2024-25 has been taking place at Nurul Amin Stadium, Nagaon, Assam, from July 28 to August 11.

The inaugural match was played between Assam and Andra Pradesh on July 28, where the host state won by 5-0. Sterwin Hanse of Deithor, Karbi Anglong is the team captain.
States like Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Assam, Tripura, Gujarat, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Pondicherry, Telengana, Bihar and Uttarakhand have been participating in the tournament.
Meanwhile, three girl players from Karbi Anglong will represent the Assam team for the Junior Girls Football Championship 2024-25 at Belgaum, Karnataka. The players are Serbirika Terangpi, Rengmir Ingtipi and Shivani Engtipi.
