GUWAHATI, July 17: Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, known for its excellence in education, has organised the prestigious 1st Jambabati Bhuyan Memorial 3×3 North East Prize Money Basketball Tournament on July 16th and 17th, 2023. The tournament, held under the guidance of the highly esteemed mentor and founder, Dr Basanta Kumar Bhuyan, was an exciting event for basketball enthusiasts.

The tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr Bishnu Ram Nunisa, vice president of the Assam Olympic Association and Sepak Takraw Federation, India. Other esteemed guests, including Bhaskar Jyoti Gogoi, reverend sports organiser, Mukut Baishya, and the administration officer of Monfort School, graced the occasion with their presence.

A total of 48 teams, comprising 36 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams, enthusiastically participated in the tournament. Teams from various regions, including Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaon, Jorhat, and beyond, joined the competition, creating a vibrant and spirited sporting atmosphere.

Under the guidance of experienced sports mentors, the tournament fostered an environment of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and enjoyment.

The 1st Jambabati Bhuyan Memorial 3×3 North East Prize Money Basketball Tournament was a celebration of basketball talent and a platform for promoting sportsmanship and unity among players from different regions.
