6th Assam Premier Club Cricket begins in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, Dec 23: Riding on Sivam Ghash’s maiden century (114n.o) on the inaugural day of the 6th Assam Premier Club Cricket Championship organised here in Durbar Field, Sivasagar, Griffon Club defeated Gayanaj Club by 110 runs. Opting to bat first Griffon scored a comfortable 253 runs losing 6 wickets in the allotted 30 overs while Gayanaj scored only 143 runs losing 9 wickets. Sunny Parasar of Griffon Club was adjudged M-o-M.

Manoj Kumar Borthakur, vice president, Sivasagar Sports Association, in the presence of assistant secretary Sarat Hazarika, treasurer Prasanta Borthakur, and other sports enthusiasts inaugurated the tournament by hoisting the Association’s flag in the morning.
