GUWAHATI, July 7: The District Magistrate of Cachar, Rohan Kumar Jha, has issued a prohibitory order in view of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) competitive combined main examination scheduled to take place in Cachar on July 8, 9, and 10. The order invokes Section 144 of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr P.C) and applies within a 100-meter radius of the examination centre located at Silchar Government Girls & MP School.

The decision to impose the prohibitory order stems from concerns about potential disruptions to public peace and tranquility due to the expected large gathering of candidates, their guardians, and well-wishers around the examination centre. To maintain order and security, several restrictions have been put in place.
Firstly, no assembly of three or more persons, except candidates and authorised personnel, will be allowed within the designated 100-meter radius of the examination centre. Additionally, entry into the examination centre will be strictly limited to authorised individuals only, with unauthorised persons being prohibited from accessing the premises.
Furthermore, stringent measures have been enacted to ensure the safety and security of the examination process. Carrying weapons, explosives, or any other suspicious materials within the 100-meter radius of the examination centre is strictly forbidden. Unauthorised vehicular movement and illegal parking are also prohibited within the same radius to maintain smooth operation and prevent any potential threats.
In consideration of the potential noise disturbances that may arise, the use of loudspeakers and high-decibel sound-producing devices is restricted within a 200-meter radius of the examination centre. These measures aim to provide a conducive environment for the candidates to focus on their examinations without any unnecessary disruptions.
The prohibitory order emphasises that any contravention of these regulations will be subject to legal consequences. Authorities are committed to ensuring the smooth conduct of the APSC competitive combined main examination, and individuals are expected to comply with the order to uphold public safety and security.
