Tezpur University VC meets Dharmendra Pradhan to discuss skill-based education

GUWAHATI, July 10: On Sunday, Prof Shambhu Nath Singh, vice chancellor of Tezpur University, met with Dharmendra Pradhan, Union minister for Education, at his residence in New Delhi.

During the meeting, vice chancellor Prof Singh highlighted the notable achievements of Tezpur University and presented the roadmap for transforming the institution into a world-class educational establishment.

Minister Pradhan acknowledged the significant role that universities play in driving the nation’s development and commended Tezpur University for its contributions to academic excellence and research. He advised Prof Singh to focus on empowering students with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively tackle the challenges of a rapidly evolving world, emphasising the importance of skill-based education.

Expressing his gratitude for the meeting, vice chancellor Prof Singh stated, “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to interact with the Education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. This meeting reaffirms our commitment to creating an atmosphere of academic excellence within our university.”

He further mentioned that an invitation has been extended to the Education minister to visit Tezpur University, which he has graciously accepted, assuring that he will visit the campus in the near future.
