Assam: Students go missing in Ranganadi river, bodies recovered in Lakhimpur

Lakhimpur, April 11: In a tragic event, two students, Joydeep Hazarika and Tanmay Dutta, drowned in the Ranganadi River in Assam’s Lakhimpur on Thursday.

The students, belonging to seventh and sixth grades respectively, were playing near the riverbank when they were swept away by the strong currents. Despite rescue efforts, the boys did not survive.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was summoned and retrieved the bodies. The incident has left the Deobil village in a state of shock and mourning. The bodies have been transported to their homes in Assam’s Nagaon for final rites.
