Death of worker in paddy field at Sootea

BISWANATH CHARIALI, July 15: Arun Karmakar, a daily wage earner, tragically passed away while uprooting paddy seedlings in a field at Nalbari village in the eastern part of Sootea on Monday. According to reports, Arun, hired by a resident of Nalbari village for the task, collapsed due to heat exhaustion amidst the scorching heat.

The Sootea Police responded to the incident, retrieving the body from the paddy field. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are currently underway. Arun Karmakar, originally from No 20 Line of Pertubgur Tea Estate, Biswanath Chariali, was pronounced dead at the scene.
