Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visits site of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University

DIBRUGARH, March 12: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited the site of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University at Chabua, Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

He reviewed the progress of construction activities of the University and directed the PWD officials to complete the first phase of construction work at the earliest so that the University may start functioning from the permanent site.

The Governor who is also the Chancellor of the University had a brief interaction with the students.

He asked the students to study hard with discipline and dedication to serve the society and assured them that all the hurdles encountered by the University in transacting teaching-learning processes shall be resolved and facilities shall be created within a reasonable time.

The Governor re-emphasised the importance and potential of the Sports University to nurture sports talents and researchers in Assam in particular and North East region in general and requested all concerned to work collectively and judiciously to fulfill the vision of the University.

The Governor also directed the Registrar of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Pankaj Borthakur to monitor the progress of construction work and submit monthly progress report to Rajbhavan. 

The Vice Chancellor of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Professor JP Verma, VV Rakesh Reddy, SP of Dibrugarh District,  Rajkumar Chetry, executive engineer (buildings), PWD, Dibrugarh, Faculties, Officials and Students of the University were also present during the visit of the Governor.
