GUWAHATI, May 13: Arunachal Pradesh has reason to celebrate as three talented athletes from East Kameng district made a remarkable mark at the 13th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2025, held from May 9 to 13 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Competing against athletes from over 30 states, the East Kameng contingent displayed outstanding prowess and determination, bringing home one gold and two bronze medals.
Jeevan Tara – Gold Medal (45 kg category), Meko Liyak – Bronze Medal (60 kg category), Atta Tayung – Bronze Medal (50 kg category)
A moment of historic pride for the state, Jeevan Tara became the first-ever athlete from Arunachal Pradesh to win a Gold Medal in the Senior National Pencak Silat Championship, marking a significant milestone in the state’s sporting history.
