BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 26: A farewell meeting was organised at the No 1 Gereki LP School on Thursday to bid adieu to head teacher Arun Bordoloi, who retired after 39 years of service.
The event, held under the chairmanship of retired teacher Shailen Saikia, was attended by school authorities, the School Management Committee (SMC), students and local community members.

Bordoloi, a recipient of the district-level Best Teacher Award, was honoured with a gamosa, sarai, japi, a packet of books and a citation in recognition of his contributions to education.
The programme began with a Borgeet performed by Koushik Barmudoi.
In his address, Bordoloi recalled fond memories from his long teaching career.
The meeting was also addressed by Bakul Chandra Sut, Paresh Bora, Haren Pator, Juri Bordoloi, Munmi Bordoloi, Bhusar Khadiya, Sunita Khadiya, Chiteswar Bhuyan, Bhola Bora, Mira Basumatary and Bulu Musahary.
The proceedings were conducted by Mousumi Boishya, assistant teacher of the school.
