Karbi Lammet Amei schedules 34th annual conference

DIPHU, Nov 16: The Karbi Lammet Amei Central Executive Committee (KLA-CEC) has scheduled its 34th annual conference from January 7 to 10, 2026 at Bhoksong, Duar Amla in West Karbi Anglong. The conference coincides with the 16th death anniversary of former KLA president Khonsing Tokbi, whose memory was honoured by members with prayers and candle lighting.

The CEC meeting, chaired by KLA president Kamsing Hanse and attended by over 50 members, also finalised the date for elections to the posts of president and vice president, set for November 22. Voting will involve 341 members from the CEC, regional committees and branch committees, with Khirla Teronpi, Khorsing Teron and Humsing Bey appointed as Returning Officers.

The meeting further discussed the release of 100 books by various authors during the conference and the felicitation of 15 individuals recognised at national, state and district levels for their achievements. KLA-CEC has 65 members, 11 regional committees and 110 branches across Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and other districts of Assam and neighboring states.
