Gossaigaon, Aug 23: The All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU)’s West Kokrajhar district committee staged a two hour sit-in-demonstration seeking fulfillment of various demands in front of the sub divisional office (Civil) office premises, Gossaigaon on Tuesday.
The protest demonstration was carried out against the BJP-led Government’s failure in fulfilling various demands placed by AAMSU for the greater interest of minority communities of the State.
In the memorandum submitted to the chief minister, the students union expressed great dissatisfaction over the Government’s lackadaisical attitude in regard to skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.
The demands include appointment of teachers proportionately to the number of students as per rules in every schools, to provide appointment to every class and community in Government jobs without bias as per population ratio, to refrain from transferring teachers from schools without filling up the same post etc.
