GUWAHATI, Feb 23: To manage the additional passenger rush during the upcoming Holi festival season and ensure hassle-free travel, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the services of four pairs of Holi Special trains during February–March 2026.
According to an official release, the services of train nos 07046/07047 (Secunderabad–Naharlagun–Secunderabad) and 03129/03130 (Kolkata Terminal–New Jalpaiguri–Kolkata Terminal) have been extended to operate one additional trip each in both directions.
Train nos. 09189/09190 (Mumbai Central–Katihar–Mumbai Central) will run six additional trips each way, while the weekly special train nos 04614/04613 (Amritsar–Katihar–Amritsar) will operate three additional trips in both directions.
Train no 07046 (Secunderabad–Naharlagun) weekly special has been extended to run on February 27, 2026, while its return service, train no 07047 (Naharlagun–Secunderabad), will run on March 2, 2026. Similarly, train no 03129 (Kolkata Terminal–New Jalpaiguri) weekly special will operate on February 28, 2026, and in the return direction, train no 03130 (New Jalpaiguri–Kolkata Terminal) will run on March 1, 2026.
On the other hand, train no. 09189 (Mumbai Central–Katihar), which has already been extended from February 21, will continue to run every Saturday till March 28, 2026.
Its return service, train no. 09190 (Katihar–Mumbai Central), will operate every Tuesday from February 24 till March 31, 2026.
Likewise, train no 04614 (Amritsar–Katihar) weekly special will run every Wednesday from February 25 till March 5, 2026, while train no 04613 (Katihar–Amritsar) will run every Friday from February 27 till March 7, 2026.
Railway officials stated that all these special trains will operate with their existing schedules, stoppages, timings and coach composition.
The extension of these train services is expected to significantly benefit waitlisted passengers on regular trains operating along these routes.
It will also improve connectivity between the Northeast and the Eastern and Northern regions of the country, facilitating smoother passenger movement during the festive period and supporting regional integration.
Passengers have been advised to verify the detailed timings and stoppages of these trains through the IRCTC website and official social media platforms of NFR before undertaking their journey.
