KOILAMATI: Villagers of five villages have started preparation for the celebration of the 35th Ngada festival of Rengma Naga community in Nilip area of Karbi Anglong by clearing the site for holding of the festival at Phangcherop on Saturday. The festival is held on November 25, 26 and 27 every year.

More than 100 villagers of Richangari, Khanari, Khoani Kisantrongri, Raising Phangcherop and Sathi Silonijan cleaned up the ground on Saturday.

President, Phangcherop Zone, Kenilo Rengma said the Ngada festival involves reconciliation among the villagers and celebration. Phangcherop has been selected for holding the festival in Nilip and five neighbouring villages have started the preparation by clearing tall grasses and shrubs for construction of pandals.
