Assam: Village Headman Appointed In Dimsolangso

BOKAJAN, April 11: Villager of Dimsolangso, Chandrasing Terang has been made a Headman with traditional Karbi rituals. It is believed that an elder Rukasen had made the rules for making someone a village elder in ancient times among the Karbis.

In a function held at Dimrolangso under Bokajan sub-division, under traditional Karbi rituals and worship Terang took an oath known by the Karbis as arlong (stone), ingching (iron) ase-me (oath). The function was attended by Sarkari Gaonbura of Hanjanglangso and traditional village headmen. Chandra Tisso attended the function as the representative of traditional Karbi king Ramsing Ronghang.

Later a feast was held for the attendees.
