GUWAHATI: The flood situation in Assam has improved further, with the number of people affected dropping to around 2,415, according to an official bulletin issued on Saturday.

Parts of Bajali, Dhemaji, Golaghat, Jorhat and Kamrup continued to be suffering from the deluge..

The government is presently running nine aid camps, offering refuge to eight people.

According to the ASDMA, floodwaters have currently inundated 122 villages and destroyed an estimated 1080.23 hectares of crop land across the state.

The death toll from this year’s floods has stayed at seven, with no new fatalities reported.

Erosion has been reported in Biswanath, Dhubri and Sonitpur, according to the ASDMA report
