ITANAGAR, June 28: The Investment and Entrepreneurship Workshop on the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI 2024) and other industrial investment schemes was held on Saturday at the State Banquet Hall in Itanagar.
The event was addressed by Minister of Industries Nyato Dukam, who called upon entrepreneurs and investors to seize the opportunity presented by the scheme to transform Arunachal Pradesh into a thriving hub of inclusive and sustainable industrial growth.
According to an official statement, Minister Dukam welcomed stakeholders with an optimistic vision for the future of the state, stating, “If you wish to build in India, Arunachal Pradesh is your launchpad.
If you seek to invest in sustainability, we offer the greenest canvas. If you dream of bridging tradition with innovation, we welcome you with both hands.”
He further urged everyone present to come together to script the next chapter of Arunachal’s development, one that is inclusive, sustainable, and truly transformative.
The workshop is being jointly organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, and the Department of Industries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
The event witnessed participation from over 300 aspiring entrepreneurs from across the state, along with banking officials, consultants, industry experts, departmental heads, and other key stakeholders.
Designed to catalyse industrial growth in the Northeast, the workshop aims to promote policy awareness, enhance financial access, strengthen B2B and B2G linkages, and support digital onboarding of entrepreneurs.
Minister Dukam emphasised the importance of regular dialogue between the government and entrepreneurial communities to shift Arunachal Pradesh from a consumer-driven to a producer-driven economy.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to building an investment-friendly ecosystem through progressive policy reforms and robust infrastructure.
Addressing the gathering, Mohesh Chai, advisor to the Minister of Industries, urged participants to contribute toward building a truly ‘Viksit Arunachal’.
He highlighted the state’s strategic location bordering Myanmar, Bhutan, and Tibet and stated that, with collective effort from all stakeholders, Arunachal Pradesh could serve as a vital gateway for regional trade and industry.
Dr Chai also pointed to the shift from the Government of India’s ‘Look East’ to ‘Act East’ policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and called upon the entrepreneurs to leverage this momentum and make UNNATI 2024 a success on the ground.
Chief Secretary Manish Gupta, in his remarks, underscored the importance of strengthening the state’s secondary and tertiary sectors.
He praised the organisers for arranging such a significant and timely event, stating that it would play a pivotal role in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Arunachal’.
Industries Secretary Shri Saugat Biswas also addressed the attendees, highlighting the key features and opportunities presented by the UNNATI 2024 scheme.
He elaborated on the day’s agenda, which includes technical sessions on the UNNATI scheme, inter-departmental discussions with DPIIT representatives, experience-sharing forums, B2G meetings, and other activities designed to support and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.
The workshop reflects a consolidated effort by the central and state governments to unlock Arunachal Pradesh’s industrial potential and position it as a leading destination for sustainable investment and innovation in the Northeast.
