GUWAHATI, Jan 3: The Haflong based 32 Assam Rifle Battalion on Tuesday formally installed the holy scripture of Sikhism Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Sri Gurdwara Sahib located in Sarkari Bagan, Haflong. The Sikh holy scripture was brought from the Guwahati on Monday and was installed accordingly with religious function, rituals, kirtan, and ardas prayer.
On the occasion, Animesh Mittal, commanding officer of 32 Assam Rifle, assistant commandant IM Singha, other officers and dignitaries from the battalion were present.
Speaking on the auspicious day, commanding officer Animesh Mittal highlighted on the significance of Sikh Guru and Sri Guru Granth Sahib terming it as inspiration and blessings for whole universe and extended message of love, peace, prosperity among all the community in Dima Hasao district and expressed gratitude to all present on the day. On the day, hundreds of families, children of the Assam Rifle battalion apart from members from Sri Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Haflong and general public were present. Later, the program ended by serving food from the free community kitchen ‘Guru ka Langar’.
