JORHAT, Jan 17: Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, is gearing up to host the much-anticipated National Integration Camp (NIC) under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) from January 21 to 27.
An AAU official informed that this landmark event, to be hosted by the university after 26 years, will bring together over 200 NSS Youth Volunteers and Programmè Officers from 15 states across the country, including Odisha, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Jharkhand, Tripura, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Assam.
The week-long camp will feature a range of enriching activities, including cultural exchanges, community service programmes, interactive discussions, and team-building exercises. These initiatives aim to promote national integration, celebrate diversity, and empower youth to become torchbearers of harmony and social progress.
Speaking about the event, AAU vice-chancellor Bidyut Chandan Deka expressed his enthusiasm by stating “It is an honour for AAU to host this historic camp after 26 years. This is a unique opportunity for young minds from diverse backgrounds to come together, exchange ideas, and build lifelong bonds that strengthen the fabric of our nation.”
