All Assam Kabi Sanmillan program ‘Sutal’ organised in Demow

DEMOW, June 24: Under the patronage of Demow Branch Kabi Sanmillan, the All Assam Kabi Sanmillan Kendriya programme ‘Sutal’ was organised at the residence of Umesh Chetia in Konwar Dehingia Gaon on Saturday.

Before the commencement of the ‘Sutal’ programme, a book named ‘Kabyakarani’ was released by Parviz Hussain, secretary of All Assam Kabi Sanmillan. Mrinal Ranjan Gogoi, president of Demow Branch Kabi Sanmillan, presided over the meeting. Anjana Uzir Saha, secretary of Demow Branch Kabi Sanmillan, anchored the book release programme and also spoke about its aims. Umesh Chetia, a local media person from Demow, delivered the welcome speech during the ‘Sutal’ programme.

The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries including Kuntala Kalyani Handique, secretary of Sivasagar District Kabi Sanmillan; Jiten Nath, vice-president of Sivasagar District Kabi Sanmillan; Ghana Kanta Gogoi, former principal of Demow Higher Secondary School; Anjumoni Gogoi Medhi, former teacher; Tulan Bezbarua; Hamida Begum; and other members of Demow Branch Kabi Sanmillan.

Participants in the ‘Sutal’ programme included Arun Sarma, Padma Lahon Chetia, Lakhima Phukan, Ghana Kanta Gogoi, Anjana Uzir Saha, Beauty Konwar, Krisha Borah Barua, Jyotika Deori, Ditimoni Dutta, Anju Gogoi Medhi, Kuntala Kalyani Handique, Kunjadevi Upadhyay, and other dignitaries who recited poems.

During the event, Umesh Chetia, the local media person from Demow, was felicitated by Kabi Sanmillan for his contributions.
