Assam: 2 infants found dead at Guwahati’s Lachit Ghat, probe ordered

Guwahati, Jan 11: In a disturbing incident, two infant bodies were discovered at Guwahati’s Lachit Ghat on Thursday.

The deceased, believed to be around five to six months old, were found by Bharalumuk Police Station officials near a pit at Lachit Ghat. The officials suspect the pit was dug for burial, but the bodies were left beside it.

The victims were identified as one male and one female infant. The perpetrator of this horrifying act remains unknown.

The police found the bodies in the evening and Bharalumukh Police has initiated an investigation. Early findings suggest the crime occurred earlier in the day before the bodies were left at Lachit Ghat. Further information is expected.
