SIVASAGAR, March 24: In a press conference held in Sivasagar on Sunday, Ajit Kumar Bhuyan, coordinator of the Bharat Judo Campaign and president of the Assam Civil Society, expressed concern over certain actions of the BJP, suggesting they might undermine democratic principles. He highlighted various incidents as indicative of this concern.
Bhuyan emphasised that, in his view, the politics led by the BJP, characterised by division, seems to have reached a concerning level. He encouraged people to voice their discontent openly. Additionally, he mentioned the arrests of two chief ministers for not aligning with the BJP’s agenda. Bhuyan urged voters to consider Gaurav Gogoi and pointed out that the BJP government has yet to address 32 questions raised by the INDIA group.
The conference was attended by Paresh Malakar, secretary of the Assam Civil Society, Guwahati High Court advocate Shantanu Barthakur, and Jintu Mess, the Civil Society coordinator for Sivsagar district.
During the conference, speakers expressed concerns about the alleged use of investigative agencies like the ED and CBI by the BJP government to advance its own interests.
