Assam: Former Lat Mandal caught red-handed while accepting bribe in Darrang

March 27: In a noteworthy development, the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption in Assam successfully apprehended Tapan Nath, a former Lat Mandal, in connection with a bribery case related to land dealings on Wednesday.

The operation took place at Hotel Titan, situated near the Circle Office in Dalgaon, Darrang District.

Reports indicate that Nath was caught in the act by officials from the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption while accepting Rs 1,500 of the Rs 5,000 bribe he had demanded from the complainant. This incident highlights the prevalence of corruption within bureaucratic circles, especially concerning land transactions.
