Assam Police mourns death of Lance Corporal Monoj Gogoi in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh, May 9: The Assam Police is mourning the tragic loss of Lance Corporal Monoj Gogoi from 5th APBn, Sontila, who passed away due to cerebral Malaria with Septic shock on May 8, 2024.

Serving the force for over 13 years, Gogoi’s untimely death has created an irreplaceable void. Gogoi, born on July 15, 1986, in Golaghat District, Assam, is survived by his wife, Ajanta Gogoi, and four children.

He joined the Assam Police on August 2, 2010, and was recently deployed for Election Duty in Chhattisgarh. On May 4, 2024, Gogoi fell ill and was hospitalised. Despite best efforts, he passed away at Krishna Sagar Hospital in Raipur on May 8, 2024.

As per the family’s wishes, Gogoi’s last rites will be performed in his hometown. His body will arrive at Guwahati tonight (09.05.24), where the Assam Police will pay their respects.

The body will then be taken to Golaghat for the final rites. The Assam Police extends its deepest sympathies to Monoj Gogoi’s family during this challenging time.
