TEZPUR, March 24: Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive Veterans’ Day event, prioritising the well-being and support of veterans at Assam Rifles Garrison in Lokra, Sonitpur district on Saturday.
The event provided a comprehensive array of services tailored to meet various needs of veterans. This included thorough medical checkups to ensure their health requirements were addressed, information kiosks offering access to benefits, entitlements, and reintegration support. Grievance redressal mechanisms were also put in place, allowing veterans to voice concerns and receive timely resolutions.
In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, veer naris were felicitated for their resilience and sacrifices, while disabled veterans received aid and assistance, reaffirming the commitment to support those who have served and sacrificed for the nation.
Additionally, a bank help desk was available to provide financial guidance, ensuring veterans have access to essential banking services and resources. Overall, the event exemplified Assam Rifles’ dedication towards the veterans holistically. A total of 128 veterans, 26 widows, and 4 veer naris benefited from the event.
