GUWAHATI, June 24: In a collaborative effort, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on Sunday successfully recovered a substantial amount of weapons and military supplies in Thoubal district of Manipur.
According to an official statement released on X by the Assam Rifles, prompted by a particular intelligence, a mission was conducted in the Waithou Ridge region, leading to the recovery of a 12 gauge single barrel firearm, a 12 gauge Bolt action rifle, a 9 mm CMG, as well as various ammunition and grenades.

“Following actionable intelligence about the presence of arms and ammunition in the general vicinity of Waithou Ridge in Thoubal district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police jointly executed an operation that yielded substantial recoveries,” the official statement from Assam Rifles stated.
As per reports, all seized items inclusive of the weapons and war materiel have been taken into custody of Manipur Police for detail investigation and legal proceedings.
This operation’s success highlights the continuous endeavors of security forces to combat unlawful activities and uphold peace in the region.
In a similar incident earlier, the Assam Rifles jointly with Manipur Police apprehended three individuals in Shantong, near Lamlong Village in Tengnoupal District. The detainees have been identified as Thiyam Lukhoi Luwang (21), who is affiliated with the KYKL Group, Keisham Premchand Singh (24), who is also linked to the KYKL Group, and Inaobi Khundrakpam (20), who is associated with the KCP Noyon Group.
