Nagaon, April 29: In a startling revelation, a woman’s body was discovered under dubious conditions at Hatigaon tea garden in Assam’s Nagaon, under Kaliabor police station jurisdiction.
Identified as Priyanka Kujur, the body was found in the evening at sector five of the garden. On being informed, Nagaon’s Superintendent of Police promptly reached the scene for investigation.
The reasons behind Kujur’s death remain uncertain. She was last seen attending a wedding at a relative’s place near her father’s house and had been missing since then.
The situation was further complicated when the deceased’s husband, Sushil Baraik, claimed suicide as the cause of death despite having visible blood stains on his body.
A pair of sandals, presumed to belong to the deceased, was also found near the body, adding to the mystery of the case.
