MARGHERITA, July 5: On Wednesday, the Assam Tea Tribes Students Association (ATTSA) Margherita Branch committee submitted a memorandum to the principal of Margherita College concerning the admission of approximately 10 students from the tea tribes community in Margherita sub-division.

The committee members, including Pranjal Baraik, a central executive member of ATTSA, Ananta Ghatowar, the president (i/c) of ATTSA Margherita Branch Committee, Mahesh Nand, an ATTSA Tinsukia district executive member, Mashor Baraik, Raju Jal, Anil Tanti, Khagen Majhi, and several other ATTSA leaders from Margherita, visited the principal’s office and presented the memorandum. They demanded the admission of underprivileged students from the tea tribes community residing in Margherita sub-division.

Pranjal Baraik highlighted that every year, many underprivileged students are unable to continue their studies due to the challenges they face in their daily lives, resulting in them not achieving the required cut-off marks for college admission.

Mahesh Nand, a district executive member, stated that every year they have to protest to secure admissions for their students in the college.
