DIPHU, March 11: “Bithung Asami” was released by Kache Teronpi on her birthday (March 10) at the chief executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Bungalow, Diphu. Teronpi is the wife of the CEM of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang.
Bithung” is a shortened form of “Bithung Rengthama,” one of the Member of Autonomous Council constituency located in West Karbi Anglong. Notably, Tuliram Ronghang, the CEM of KAAC, represents the constituency. The phrase “Bithung Asami” combines “Bithung,” representing the constituency, with “Asami,” meaning “maiden” in the Karbi language. Therefore, the song title translates into “Girls of Bithung.” Composed by Diphu City Rap’s Christin Teron, the song was inspired by his experience as an invited artist at various villages under the Bithung Rengthama constituency during the Karbi New Year celebrations on February 1 last.
The villages Christin (he) visited included Rongkuru; Menmiji; Mukhim; Karbi Rongsopi; Rongmindar; Artukekang and Sarsenot. During these celebrations, Christin Teron was struck by the beauty of the girls he met, which inspired him to create the song “Bithung Asami”.
The song released was attended by CEM of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang; EM of KAAC, Madhuram Lekthe and others.
