BOKAJAN, June 10: Black marketing of domestic LPG gas is going on in Lahorijan of Bokajan Sub Division, along the Assam-Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong district.
Anti-Corruption Youth Power of Assam, Karbi Anglong District Committee, led by its President, Chitra Boruah, visited the area on June 9. During the visit, it was found that two employees of Thumong Gas Service, Opendra Dubey and Sapan Dey, would sell domestic LPG gas cylinders at Rs 1,250 each. They would sell anywhere from 5 to 9 cylinders to the shopkeepers, who in turn would sell the LPG cylinders at Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,600 each.
Anti-Corruption Youth Power of Assam, Karbi Anglong, submitted a memorandum to the Food and Civil Supplies Department office in Bokajan, registering its complaint against the illegal marketing of domestic cooking gas.
The illegal sale of LPG gas cylinders in the shops at Lahorijan is dangerous and may lead to fatal consequences. They may catch fire and blast, leading to a massive fire, said that youth organisation.
