Body Found In Diphu Rubber Plantation

DIPHU, Sept 15: An unidentified body of a person was found inside a rubber plantation near Rongnong-eh, Matipung in Diphu.

The deceased person has been identified as 26-year-old Eliyas Engti, a resident of Diphu. According to his family, Engti was a habitual drinker and used to reside at the nearby rubber plantation in a temporary makeshift hut.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed the person may have died of weakness and an overdose of alcohol. However, the actual cause of death will be ascertained only after the postmortem report arrives, police sources said.

Inquest was done by executive magistrate and the dead body was sent to the Diphu Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.  The Diphu police has also registered a case in the incident.
