BTC chief Mohilary distributes financial aid in Kokrajhar

Assistance and land pattas handed out under five guarantees

KOKRAJHAR, March 4: The ruling Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) began implementing the five guarantees promised in its 2025 BTC election manifesto by providing financial grants and assistance to unemployed youths across the districts.

The constituency-wise distribution of financial aid started on Wednesday, alongside the delivery of land pattas (land documents) to beneficiaries in line with the party’s commitments.

In Debargaon constituency, Hagrama Mohilary, Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) distributed cheques of Rs 2 lakh each to unemployed youths for self-employment, Rs 10,000 each to senior citizens, Rs 10,000 each to specially-abled persons, Rs 10,000 each under the IBS scheme and Rs 15,000 each to self-help groups.

In Salakati constituency, the financial assistance was distributed by BTC Executive Member Derhasat Basumatary.

While distributing land pattas and financial aid, Mohilary said that the promises made before the election are now being fulfilled and that these measures will provide relief to the people. He added that those who did not receive benefits in the first phase should not be disappointed, as they will be covered in the second and third phases.

He also informed that 11 members will be newly appointed to the BTC Central Recruitment Board and that the newly appointed three Executive Members will soon be allocated their respective departments.

Senior BPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma, Derhasat Basumatary and several other dignitaries were present at the programme.
