Carcass of a wild elephant found at Kampur

NAGAON, April 17: Carcass of an adult female wild elephant was found at Kachua Dhansila Pahar under Kampur forest range early this morning here.

During the routine patrolling, a team of forest personnel from Kampur forest range detected the carcass of the adult female wild elephant, sources said, adding that following the detection of the carcass, the forest officials from the range, made all arrangements for carrying out the autopsy of the carcass and disposed it.

While speaking to this correspondent here, the range officer, Kampur, Shamim Akhtar said that the PM report would ascertain the exact cause of the death of the wild elephant. The forest official suspected that it might be due to electrocution.
