Commemorative speech on ‘Psychology of Winning’ held

DEMOW, March 3: Under the patronage of Birendra Nath Chetia Social Trust and in association with Demow Press Club, a commemorative speech on the topic ‘Psychology of Winning’ was organised in the auditorium of Demow College on Sunday. As per the schedule, the program started with the planting of saplings in memory of Birendra Nath Chetia, planted by Hamida Begum, retired HOD of Sociology department, Demow College. The earthen lamps in front of the photo of Birendra Nath Chetia were lit by Binod Borgohain, retired teacher of Athabari Higher Secondary School, Arpana Chetia, wife of late Birendra Nath Chetia, and Demow Press Club members. The dignitaries were felicitated with a phulam gamosa in the program. Dr Pranjal Buragohain, associate professor of the Education department, Dibrugarh University, who was present at the program as the speaker, was felicitated with a phulam gamosa, book, and citation. The Demow Press Club members also felicitated Dr Pranjal Buragohain with a phulam gamosa. Dr Bipul Gogoi, retired vice-principal of Demow College, inaugurated the commemorative speech program and spoke about Birendra Nath Chetia, stating that he was a student of Birendra Nath Chetia.

Dr Pranjal Buragohain spoke broadly on the topic ‘Psychology of Winning’. He said that the person who wants to be happy in his life and wants to live properly should learn to win. He said nobody brings talents by birth and that winning individuals have the qualities of self-awareness and self-control. In the program, Hamida Begum, retired HOD of Sociology department, Demow College, and Umesh Mohan of Bokota gave their valuable speeches. The family members of Birendra Nath Chetia felicitated three blood donors, and among them, one named Dipjyoti Sensua, a resident of Demow Lachit Nagar, was present in the program and was felicitated by the family members of Birendra Nath Chetia. The vote of thanks was given by Dr Bijoy Krishna Chetia, son of Birendra Nath Chetia.
